Name: EVA Hot Melt Adhesive Film
Brand: GBAO

Question 1

When should I choose EVA instead of TPU?

Accepted Answer

Choose EVA when the bond must stay soft and comfortable, the substrate is textile, non-woven, sponge or paper, and the assembly will not be repeatedly washed. Its melting point is lower, which is easier on light coating equipment. If you need outstanding wash resistance or bonding to leather and TPU film, look at our TPU range instead.

Question 2

What does "W/O" mean in the table?

Accepted Answer

W/O stands for "without" — in this case, without carrier (no release liner). All four EVA models are supplied as self-supporting film and are coated directly by heat transfer.

Question 3

How do I pick between EVA-4500 and EVA-2010?

Accepted Answer

The models are graded by usage temperature: EVA-4500 works at 80–100 °C, EVA-2010 at 100–130 °C, EVA-2030 at 110–150 °C and EVA-2040 at 120–160 °C. Match the model to the actual temperature your adhesive reaches on the bond line, and note that EVA-4500 starts at a thicker 0.025 mm.

Question 4

How strong is EVA against water?

Accepted Answer

Average — this is the main trade-off of EVA and we state it plainly. The film performs well in dry and indoor conditions; for products exposed to repeated washing or moisture, TPU hot melt adhesive film is the better choice.
